Becky is all about making Bluegrass music and is an avid
Player who enjoys living with Bluegrass music as a core activity. Becky
startedon banjo in about 1970. To date her music background includes
professional performing, recording and teaching beginning in 1973 and
continuing through 1986.
She has taught stringed instruments privately and in Jr College and
consistently placed in the top couple of spots in the few contests she has
entered. Becky played with several groups through the 1970's, did a couple
of local albums, and played around the eastern USA. While she may be no
spring chicken, her experiences have provided time to explore some
different instruments, different styles and different places. Since a
divorce in 2003, a return to practicing and playing Bluegrass music has
resumed. Rebuilding her life has been a labor of love, and perhaps a
little scary too. Gradually, and gratefully, the rust has worn away. As
always, persistence and hard work paid off and her calluses returned with
a vengence. Since then, Becky has consistently practiced Bluegrass banjo
between 1 and 6 hours a day. Of course, that does not fill her entire day
because there is also guitar playing, arranging, composing, gigging and
recording. She has also started a band named "Becky Taylor & Open Fire".
They are now working hard on putting a recording project together. "Becky

beckyt33@comcast.net Since all of the above does not fill quite enough
of her time, Becky uses her modest studio to teach privately and
build/repair instruments. Becky has made online lessons, via webcam,
available since June 2006. The lessons are payable with PayPalŠ in blocks
of four, one-hour sessions at $140. Individual lessons are available at

by deciding to enroll in Divinity School. She is now a seminarian! Her
goal, of course, is to develop a music ministry in addition to secular
music. Singing, playing, arranging and composing for the church she now
attends using guitar and occasionally banjo. This proves that there is
room in worship for fun, too. Becky sees every note she plays as a prayer
