Description: A love of Bluegrass was instilled in Cindy at an early age. Her father, a bluegrass musician, had band practices at their home as she was growing up. Cindy was raised in the mountains of Ashe County, North Carolina.
As a child she attended Fiddlers Conventions and Bluegrass Festivals, having the opportunity to hear some of the best music anywhere. She started building close friendships which remain with her today.
Her radio career started at the age of 17. Over the years she has served as emcee for many top festivals.
She started playing guitar at age 14. Shortly after that, she learned to play acoustic bass. Her husband, musician Terry Baucom, had been working with her on banjo (he is so patient!). She currently has a syndicated radio show called "Knee Deep in Bluegrass".
In 2005, Cindy was named Broadcaster of the Year in Nashville by the International Bluegrass Music Association.
