Description: Mickey was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. He graduated from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA in '85 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. He lived in Washington DC area for 10 years after graduation, played dobro and mandolin in the DC area bluegrass band Flatland Grass during that time. Mickey moved to Colorado in '97 and is currently a member of the Colorado based band Palmer Divide playing banjo, dobro, and guitar. Performed in the late 90's with songwriter Benny Galloway as part of the Cletus Brothers Band playing dobro. In the late 90's he also was a member of the Colorado bluegrass band Lost Creek, playing guitar with them for several years. Early 2000's was a member of the band Black Rose, playing dobro, banjo, guitar, and mandolin. Mickey has a side business as a luthier: www.stinnettstringedinstruments.com, He has built a couple dozen mandolins, several dobros, a telecaster style electric, a Les Paul style electric, and a modified D18 style acoustic guitar. Mickey was a former free-agent place-kicker with the NFL's New England Patriots. |
