Description: The hottest bands in the Boone, NC area! These guys are lots of fun with tons of energy and smiling faces, they are a BLAST to see live. It all began in “the basement”- the local late night jam room of Ben Smith. Many talented, well known pickers from all over the region have jammed with the boys in that room. After jamming around for months, they found they were having so much fun together that it would be a shame not to bring it on out of the basement. So they did in the spring of 2006. They have begun developing a strong fan base and people are talking all over town about how talented these boys are. The boys spent the summer working the High Country BBQ circuit and really defining their sound, as a high energy, raw, traditional sounding bluegrass band. Even though these guys are steeped in Old Time Mountain Music and “traditional” bluegrass they aren’t afraid to go out on a limb and show some of their rock-n-roll roots or interest in jazz. Through their deep respect for other genres of music these guys find themselves doing some interesting covers. So be sure and check these guys out when you’re around the Boone Town area, you won’t be disappointed. Upright & Breathin' is:
Ben Smith - Guitar/ Bass/ Vocals
Brian Kreher - Banjo
Jeff Moretz -Mandolin/Vocals
John Shefield - Bass/Guitar |
